IntelliStick™ Continues its Pursuit to Streamline Trucking Industry

NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA – In its continuous pursuit to advance the trucking industry, IntelliStick, Inc. launches the newest version of its award winning real-time engine oil condition sensor, with the addition of an in-cab display gauge with low oil level indicator.  The new IntelliStick™ 2 retains all the wireless functionality and capabilities of the original design, with the added feature and convenience of a gauge.

The IntelliStick system is designed to allow both independent and fleet operators to monitor the condition of their truck’s engine oil in real time, reducing the dependence on traditional laboratory analysis to determine oil condition.  Continuous scanning for foreign liquid intrusions also further protects engine vitals.  With the addition of the in-cab gauge, operators will know instantaneously if the IntelliStick system detects any kind of unfavorable oil condition.

“Since our debut,” said Keith Easler, director of product development, IntelliStick, Inc., “our engineers have been continually working to develop new products aimed to improve the trucking industry.  This new addition of the in-cab gauge is just the first step.”

This system was developed in conjunction with the U.S. military for the diesel Humvee® by Professor Robert Kauffman at the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI).  The IntelliStick is the result of the adaptation of this technology into a consumer product.  Using this proprietary technology, oil condition is determined by measuring the additive package conditions and oxidation/acid build-up in the oil.

Both the IntelliStick and IntelliStick 2 dipstick sensors communicate with any Microsoft® Windows®-based Bluetooth®-enabled PDA, cell phone or laptop resulting in an easy to read graphic called the “Kauffman Curve”.  Users will be able to maximize the usable service life of their engine oils, minimizing costs associated with premature oil changes.
