  TECHNOLOGY
  The protected technology enables light entering the eye to be redirected away from the diseased portion to regions of the retina that remain healthy. Thus the retina will have the total complement of incident photons directed to the still-functioning rods and cones, and provide an undimmed view of the field, allowing the brain to adapt and interpret new image information not previously available.
 
PRODUCT

These vision products, available in two basic products-either “plain” or “prescriptive correction” –closely resemble conventional glasses. The eyeglass-like devices are easy and comfortable to wear, and compare favorably with the typical cost of prescription exam, lenses and frames. Lenses are not a treatment for macular degeneration, but help reduce the effects of symptoms and support positive lifestyle and activities of daily living while the individual seeks medical or other care.
